It’s time for some honesty.
I’ve been StrUGgLiNg to make any progress on book 5 for Jo. Villainous Vengeance is at a standstill and has been for weeks. Every time I sit down to dive into it – Every. Single. Time. – all I’m capable of are five- or six-word sentences. No prose. No snark. No wit. My brain is fried.
It probably has something to do with some personal things I’ve had going on lately because, truthfully, my mental health isn’t as strong as it usually is, and it’s been easily observed by those around me.
So, while I pull myself back on track, and try to find some more spoons (if ya know, ya know), I’ve found a way to ease the guilt of keeping you all in the dark and leaving you with a half-finished story.
Don’t worry, I will keep trying at Villainous Vengeance. Jo’s voice is usually loud and insistent in my brain, but right now, she’s nowhere to be found. I’ll keep making regular attempts to find Jo’s voice and make progress on her story, but in the meantime, I don’t want all of you to feel ignored and forgotten – because you are most definitely NOT – so I went through my outlines of other stories I’ve written and haven’t had a chance to finish yet, then chose the one closest to finished and most entertaining (to me, not sure if y’all will agree, but we’ll see) to post here for you.
So, for the weeks to come – as long as Villainous Vengeance is in the works – I’ll drop a new chapter on this new storyline every so often. It’s called Firestorm (for now, though I will be changing that soon, because it’s too boring), and it takes place in a world we’ve never seen before, with a slightly grittier feel and main characters who are neuro-spicy.
It’s not a why choose, nor a love triangle (at least not yet, though I can’t speak to the future) but there are three main characters that we follow. Keilee, the hot-tempered Fire Charmer; Elari, the lost queen of a destroyed country; and Rai, the Storm Charmer Prince of the country that destroyed Elari’s family and home.
For more info on these three (and their adventures) check out The Firestorm page.
Hopefully that can keep you sated until I can find wherever Jo went and drag her back to finish her story.
Hope everyone had a happy holiday!
